Makatka goes Prin w Muzeum Archeologicznym i Etnograficznym

The designs will be inspired by traditional Polish Makatkas—decorative wall hangings that once adorned many homes. Neatly embroidered, often two-coloured, and frequently featuring witty or moralising slogans, makatkas were an important element of everyday visual culture in Poland.
During the workshop, participants will be introduced to the history and aesthetics of makatkas through a short presentation.

Target audience: adults and teenagers 15+, but younger children may join their parents.
Language: English
Places are limited.
Registration is required: edukacja@maie.lodz.pl

Museum for Foreigners is a series of meetings conducted in English by Rosina.
Although the cycle was created with international audiences in mind, it is open to everyone who would like to participate, regardless of nationality or background.

All meetings are held in English and combine a short theoretical introduction with a hands-on, manual activity, allowing participants to learn through both discussion and practice.

Rosina, a participant of the European Solidarity Corps, within a project run by the Foundation of the Institute of Creative Activities, drew inspiration from the collections of our museum to develop a variety of engaging topics. Each meeting explores museum objects and themes in an accessible and interactive way, encouraging participants to connect with heritage through creative action.
